If there’s one group of people benefitting from Chelsea’s dire form, it’s the transfer producers of this world.
The worse we do, the more the clamour for new and better players, and the more believable the idea that we would do break the bank for to try and change our season.
The move for Victor Osimhen is a perfect example, and we’re not at all surprised that our two painful defeats in three have led to a fresh raft of rumours that we’re going to break our transfer fee record to sign him, led by a report in Football Transfers.
As always in our discussion of Osinhen, we have to stress firstly that a lot will be decided by his new contract, which is apparently sitting on the table but remaining unsigned. Another major factor is our performance in the rest of this season, ironically. If we finish outside Europe entirely once again, our chances of bringing him in are surely nil.
