Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer could only watch as things unraveled around him during the team’s 3-1 loss to VfB Stuttgart.
While the result was meaningless in the grand scheme of things, Neuer knows that the squad must have a short memory and push forward to next week’s Champions League tilt with Real Madrid.
“We never like to accept defeats, of course we would have liked a different result. If we converted one of our chances and made it 2-1, we’d have left the pitch as winners. We know that a really big game awaits us on Wednesday,” Neuer said (as captured by via @iMiaSanMia). “We were dangerous today on counterattacking situations and that will also be the case against Real Madrid if we create situations like that. We have to have a little more killer instinct. But it will be another final at the Bernabéu.”
Neuer and his mates will have their work cut out for them as they seek to enter Spain and knock off Los Blancos. The loss to Stuttgart will not help things in that respect, but Bayern Munich also knows it still has much left to play for.
