Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is eager to see how his side reacts to Bayern Munich as the two teams prepare to square in the Champions League semifinals.
“We have to try our best tomorrow. We have the chance to play another final again. We know semifinals are difficult but we are motivated. Real Madrid and Bayern are very similar. We respect Bayern a lot. They were better than us in the first leg,” Ancelotti said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
As for who will start in net for Real Madrid, Ancelotti was leaving nothing to doubt.
“(Andriy) Lunin will start against Bayern tomorrow. (Thibaut) Courtois was good but he needs time to get back to his best,” Ancelotti noted.
When harkening back to his days patrolling the sidelines for Bayern Munich, Ancelotti kept things brief…and civil.
“My relationship with Bayern is still fantastic but the most important thing is the support of the club. When things don’t go well it’s better to part ways. But Bayern is a great club, I have a lot of respect for (Karl-Heinz) Rummenigge and everyone there,” Ancelotti noted.
