Man United could be willing to cash in on Marcus Rashford this summer – but only for the right price.
INEOS are now in charge of footballing operations at Manchester United. The Old Trafford side are expecting to have a summer filled with moves – both on and off the field.
The staff setup are board level is changing, while players (and perhaps even manager) could look different at the start of next term.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is a master at business. With Sir Dave Brailsford at his side, I have no doubt that these two will return Manchester United to the pinnacle of English football, though it will take time.
Some tough decisions have to be made. Some fan favourites will depart. Perhaps Marcus Rashford could find himself out of the exit door.
According to The Mirror, the key United star ‘will be sold’ by the club, but only if the price is right. This news comes after a troubled season for Rashy, who has failed to play with any sort of consistency throughout the 2023/24 campaign.
Ironically, this pretty awful campaign comes directly after his best – a 30-goal season during Erik ten Hag’s debut season as boss.
While this is somewhat shocking news, I do see the logic in it. Rashford has looked massively disinterested at times this term, which is far from ideal from the perspective of a fan who is keen to see the glory days return.
This also doesn’t mean Rashford is 100% leaving. He is under contract. On massive money. Only a select few clubs can afford those wages. Even fewer sides have the squad space to accommodate the Englishman. The side that immediately comes to mind as a possible landing spot is PSG, who are all set to lose Kylian Mbappe this summer.
