One manager has jumped right into the sights of the West Ham United owners as a potential replacement for David Moyes.
David Moyes has done well at West Ham over the past four years and has taken us on to another level, but the time has come where the owners need to bring in a replacement for him.
The likes of Paulo Fonseca have been mentioned as a potential candidate for the job, but it seems like the Hammers owners are casting their net far and wide.
West Ham have gone backwards since the turn of the year. We were in such a strong position after our 2-0 win away at Arsenal.
However, Moyes’s dour approach to games and his negative tactics have held us back.
The Hammers are now in a position whereby it’s almost impossible for us to qualify for Europe for the fourth successive season.
It’s clearly time for a new manager to take us on into a new era of success, but who will that man be?
Manager firmly on West Ham radar as potential Moyes replacement
The Hammers may well be looking slightly closer to home for Moyes’s successor than was first thought.
And the man being linked with us now has enjoyed a truly outstanding campaign.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is now firmly on the Hammers’ radar.
The 37-year-old has done a sensational job in charge of the Tractor Boys, with his side currently sitting in second place in the Championship table on 93 points.
They only need a draw on the final day of the season this weekend to guarantee promotion to the Premier League.
Ipswich have played some wonderful football this term, and McKenna has earned rave reviews for his direct, quick and scintillating attacking football.
He is well-renowned for giving his attacking players plenty of creative freedom to express themselves and is highly regarded as a gifted and astute tactician.
At just 37, he’s still a baby in football management terms. However, I really do feel like he’d be a brilliant replacement for Moyes at West Ham.
Whether he’s the man who the Hammers owners opt for remains to be seen though.
