West Ham sporting director Mark Noble has made David Sullivan fully aware of who he thinks the new manager should be.
Mark Noble retired as a West Ham player back in 2022, and he will now have a big say on what manager will come in to replace David Moyes.
Hammers co-owner David Sullivan apparently favours a move for Julen Lopetegui, and is reportedly prepared to offer the Spaniard a £4.3 million per year deal.
However, Noble is not keen on the idea of Lopetegui replacing Moyes. The former West Ham skipper is far more interested in bringing another manager to the London Stadium.
The 57-year-old is currently out of work, and has been since he left Wolves nine months ago.
Lopetegui is a pragmatist to the core. He wouldn’t represent a sufficient upgrade on Moyes in my view, and Noble clearly agrees with that notion.
But who does the 36-year-old want to be handed the reins at the London Stadium?
Mark Noble has made it very clear who he wants as new West Ham manager
There will clearly be big change at the London Stadium this summer.
Moyes has proven consistently that he’s a very solid manager, but not quite good enough to take us on to the next level.
There is someone out there who could do exactly that though…
talkSPORT claim that Noble, alongside Tim Steidten, is pushing Sullivan to appoint Ruben Amorim instead of Lopetegui.
Now we’re talking! Hopefully Sully listens to Nobes, because Amorim is on another level entirely to Lopetegui.
The 39-year-old would get the Hammers players some seriously exciting, front foot football.
He deploys a 3-4-3 system that switches into a 5-2-3 when defending. His likes his team to play a really aggressive high press, and in order to get this to work, his players have to be highly energetic and physically robust.
Just go and watch one or two Sporting matches. It’s like night and day from what Moyes is producing at West Ham right now.
The same can be said regarding the difference between his and Lopetegui’s football. Amorim really is light years ahead.
The Sporting boss is the man we need at the London Stadium. However, whether David Sullivan listens to Mark Noble regarding his advice on who the new West Ham manager should be remains to be seen.
