David Moyes is not conducting training today at Rush Green. Instead, a fitness coach is leading the West Ham players through their paces ahead of Saturday’s home game against Luton. Although Moyes was at the training ground yesterday, it was during the players’ day off.
None of Moyes’ first-team coaches, including Kevin Nolan, were present at today’s training, which strongly suggests that they will also depart when Moyes leaves West Ham at the end of the season.
This series of events is fuelling speculation that Moyes will not be involved in West Ham’s Premier League game against Luton on Saturday. However, the manager is still expected to lead the team, as he plans to bid farewell to Hammers fans after four years at the club.
Given this situation, it appears safe to assume that Director of Football Tim Steidten is still unwelcome at the training ground following reports that he and Moyes are keeping their distance. Last week’s news suggested that Moyes had banned Steidten from the training ground and first-team dressing room after learning that Steidten was actively seeking West Ham’s next manager.
