Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal wanted to credit head coach Carlo Ancelotti for guiding the club through change ahead the squad’s match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
“I think that both the coach and his staff this year are the owners of the successes. We have counteracted for departures like Karim [Benzema], and Marco [Asensio] with very good arrivals, then long-term injuries and look, the numbers say it,” Carvajal told AS (as captured by Madrid Universal). “We are two games away from winning the Champions League. He has kept us with our eyes open and we have all added. It’s what counts to achieve the objectives,
Carvajal is happy to still be player Ancelotti can count on.
“I am contributing offensively, but we are all platooning. The system adjusts to who plays and the rival. We all contribute from wherever we start,” said Carvajal.
As for the Bayern Munich match, Carvajal knows that Ancelotti is fretting the very powerful squad from Germany.
“The coach is getting more and more anxious. We are a match from a final. I try to enjoy it. That tingling of tomorrow, when you’re doing a rondo. I hope to get rid of everything and not waste energy on my nerves,” Carvajal said. “The club’s demand makes it that way, that we want more. We have shaped an impressive decade in terms of achievements. I hope we will continue to expand it from tomorrow.”
