Lisandro Martinez was spotted out on the training pitch, as his injury rehab continues.
Manchester United Football Club play a massive Champions League game under the Old Trafford floodlights later today. Erik ten Hag’s side know winning is the only way they will progress into the knockout stages – while they also need help from elsewhere.
Yesterday, we brought news of Casemiro’s return to training. Things have been much tougher without the Brazilian available, though it doesn’t look like he’s too far away from making his first-team return, which is obviously good news.
I’m pleased to report the good news keeps flowing. The official club website confirmed that another key man was spotted back in training as his injury rehab continues; Lisandro Martinez.
We have not seen the Argentine for a few months since he suffered a recurrence of a metatarsal injury, though it was great to see him back doing some individual training.

It’s worth noting that this doesn’t mean Licha’s return to the side is imminent. Rather, this is just the latest stage of his recovery. It was a light individual workout for the centre-back, who then went back inside as the rest of the group continued to work during their open training workout.
Licha’s absence has been massively hard felt. The Argentine not only brings an individual toughness to the camp, he’s also a real team player and leader. Without him, United concede way more goals and the fact that Ten Hag likes to use one left-footer and right-footer back there means that options are limited on his side.
It goes without saying, the sooner he’s back and fully available, the better it’ll be for the whole club.
