Here are our player ratings as Man United are dumped out of European football at the hands of Bayern Munich.
Andre Onana – Wasn’t really tested by the Bayern attackers for consistent periods. You can possibly question his positioning for the Coman goal… 5/10
Diogo Dalot – Looked decent enough in the first half. Dealt with Sane and Coman well enough. 5/10
Harry Maguire – Had a solid first 40 minutes or so but succumbed to what looked like a groin injury. A big blow. 6/10
Raphael Varane – Nice to see him out there following so long out. Wasn’t overly impressive nor was he poor. 5/10
Luke Shaw – Also suffered an injury in the first half. Went off with a hamstring problem after playing decently enough. 5/10
Sofyan Amrabat – Looked alone at times at the heart of midfield. He just feels a yard off the pace in these big games. 4/10
Scott McTominay – Pretty quiet as per usual. His all-round game is never great. He’s in the side for the goals. 3/10
Bruno Fernandes – Worked hard as you’d expect, though his quality in the final third was lacking. 4/10
Antony – Had a lot of possession but couldn’t really exploit the Bayern back line. 4/10
Alejandro Garnacho – Works hard on both sides of the ball but much like his teammates, struggled in the final third. 4/10
Rasmus Hojlund – Worked hard enough but was never really given the required service. A tough evening against Upamecano. 4/10
Subs:
Jonny Evans – Did a solid job defensively.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Did a solid job defensively.
Facundo Pellistri – Busy.
Kobbie Mainoo – Not enough time to get into it.
Hannibal – Not enough time to get into it.
