Serhou Guirassy has rejected a contract offer from VfB Stuttgart, amid interest from Man United, among others.
Manchester United have not had much production from their striker this season. Rasmus Hojlund has five European goals, though no Premier League strikes. Anthony Martial has one goal all season. That issue has to be rectified.
It’s widely accepted that neither have had the best of service so far, though with Anthony Martial’s future firmly up in the air at this stage, it does make sense to see the Red Devils linked with bringing in a new forward.
Serhou Guirassy is among the names linked with filling that void. The striker from Guinea is in excellent form, scoring at a rate of over a goal a game for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga this term. United could definitely do with that sort of firepower.
Journalist Christian Falk has provided the latest update on that front. He states that the in-form striker has rejected a new contract offer from his current club, as they look to break free of a low release clause in his contract.
It’s stated that the player is ‘ready for the next step’ amid interest from United and elsewhere.

Guirassy is not someone who has been prolific throughout his career, though he is in the form of his life right now and that cannot be ignored. Perhaps he’s benefitting from the attack-minded system he’s in over in Germany at the moment…
At this stage, though, we’re pretty desperate for some decent production in the striker role. It’s so important for Ten Hag to get this one right, particularly if he’s planning on making the move in the January transfer window.
He’s made some questionable decisions in the market and he can have no complaints if those struggles continue and it results in the gaffer losing his job.
