Man United are still keen on signing Guinea striker, Serhou Guirassy.
Manchester United need to bring in some help for Rasmus Hojlund. The Dane, who scored his first goal against Aston Villa, then picked up an illness and was out against Nottingham Forest, does look like the real deal. However, he cannot do it all on his own.
Anthony Martial has been ‘ill’ for the last few weeks. I do wonder if the Frenchman will be at Old Trafford come February 1st, meaning another forward will either have to be promoted from the academy (Joe Hugill possibly), or signed.
The Serhou Guirassy links were pretty frequent a few weeks ago. The VfB Stuttgart striker, 27, is in the form of his life, scoring nineteen goals in sixteen Bundesliga games – a total only bettered by Harry Kane.
All had gone quiet on that front, however, Fussball Transfers (in German) have now offered an update on Guirassy’s future.
Once again, United are linked with the attacker, with the report claiming the Reds are among the sides who have ‘come knocking’ for the striker signing. Newcastle United are also said to be keen, while there is also interest in him from across the continent.
His £15m release clause feels like why so many clubs are showing an interest in Guirassy. In this day and age, that’s an absolute bargain for a player with so many goals.
What does leave me concerned is that Guirassy has only found this sort of form once in his career. He’s 27. This prolific goal-scoring form could be the exception rather than the rule.
Either way, United do need the help in that department so it could be worth the gamble, assuming Guirassy doesn’t demand huge wages.
