Nottingham Forest have added another goalkeeper to their squad in completing the signing of Strasbourg’s 31-year-old shot stopper Matz Sels. It is understood that Nottingham Forest have paid around 2.5 million euros to complete the transfer of the Belgium international keeper.
Sels is a relative unknown outside of his own country, but Forest have been looking to add a new keeper to their squad in January with uncertainty over former Arsenal keeper Matt Turner since the American’s arrival at the City Ground. Forest are desperate to cling on to their Premier League status and despite the ongoing concern over Financial Fair Play, Forest have still decided to make numerous transfer signings during the January transfer window. Sels will join the likes of Gio Reyna at the City Ground, after Reyna made the transfer just yesterday.
Interestingly, Sles had a short spell at Newcastle United and even appeared nine times in the Championship for the Magpies during the 2016-17 season.
Sels has recently been a member of Belgium’s squad behind the likes of Thibaut Courtois and Koen Casteels.
