Bernardo Silva changed his mind on Manchester City’s hopes of winning the Premier League after being convinced of their chances by a Sky Sports interviewer.
Pep Guardiola‘s side were held to a goalless draw by a resilient Arsenal team at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon, which left both sides trailing behind leaders Liverpool in the bid to win this season’s top-flight title.
In the post-match interview, Silva initially said that his side ‘weren’t favourites anymore’, after dropping two points against the Gunners.
Silva added: ‘We have to be realistic. A lot can happen now, because [there are] seven games right?’
Whilst trying to remember how many games were left, the Sky Sports reporter Patrick Davison told him there were more than Silva thought.

The Man City star responded: ‘Oh nine? That’s better for us. I thought it was like seven or eight, but nine is better because a lot can happen.’
Davison jokingly asked ‘Back in it?’ to which Silva responded: ‘Yeah, we’re back in it.’
The Portuguese midfielder added: ‘We don’t depend on ourselves, we depend on Liverpool, because we don’t play against them. We depend also on Arsenal because we don’t play them, so we need them to drop points.
‘We need to do our job and win our games.’

Each side has nine games each to decide who lifts the Premier League trophy in May.
Silva is seeking a fourth consecutive league title with his Man City teammates, and his sixth in total since joining in 2017, but they face tough tests including games against Aston Villa, Spurs and Brighton in the coming weeks.
They also look to retain the Champions League and FA Cup trophies they won during last year’s successful Treble campaign.
