And the fiery frontman has a scorching rebuke for anyone who doesn’t see eye to eye – you’re ‘f****** weird’.
Spurs fans have been faced with the ultimate dilemma ahead of their clash with Manchester City on Tuesday.
Win and it could strongly advance their top four hopes depending on how results are this weekend – but it could almost hand bitter rivals Arsenal the Premier League title.
Lose and Spurs’ Champions League ambitions are extinguished – but it would give City the edge over Arsenal.
Troy Deeney has claimed that Tottenham and their fans should want to help Arsenal win the Premier League by beating Manchester City
He argued it would be good for giving teams hope in the Premier League in a column for The Sun
In an explosive column for The Sun, Deeney argues that Spurs fans should want City to be pegged back to give themselves and the rest of the league hope.
‘I’m getting to a point where, as a football fan, I want a different team to win the league. Not because City are terrible but it just gets boring,’ he wrote.
‘We want to see the likes of City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and, hopefully, Spurs all pushing and competing until the final ebbs of the season.
‘I want to be sat there thinking, “Blimey, who’s going to win the league?” rather than, “This is a done deal, it’s City, roll on the summer” because it becomes a waste of time.
‘So, here we go: Tottenham should WANT to help Arsenal win the title by getting a result against City.
‘It will give themselves and everyone else hope that they can win it one day.’
First, Ange Postecoglou’s side will have to face Burnley on Saturday while City travel to Fulham.
