Arsenal fans appeared to set off fireworks outside Manchester City‘s team hotel early on Tuesday morning – ahead of City’s trip to Tottenham.
There was just one major flaw with the plan – City weren’t there.
City will face Tottenham tonight and will overtake Arsenal going into the final day of the season if they win.
Members of the Ashburton Army, a fan group, lit up the night sky with their pytotechnics to try and put City off.
But Pep Guardiola‘s side do not stay overnight ahead of Premier League away fixtures but may book out a hotel the day before they arrive due to check-in times.
The team are staying at Delta Hotels Waltham Abbey, which travelling clubs often use.
And Arsenal ultras donning ‘Ashburton Army’ hoodies and balaclavas filmed themselves letting off the fireworks at 2am on Tuesday morning.
More to follow.
