A Premier League club reportedly starts negotiations regarding the potential signing of an in-demand Championship winger.
Brighton & Hove Albion allegedly attempt to move ahead in the race for an in-demand Championship winger.
The Seagulls bided their time before appointing a successor to Roberto De Zerbi, eventually opting for St Pauli boss Fabian Hurzeler.
With that decision having now been made, Brighton can now go about strengthening their squad for the new campaign after a bottom-half finish in the 2023-24 Premier League.
As a result of the big-money sales made during recent transfer windows, Brighton are in a strong position when it comes to signing their desired targets.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the South-coast outfit are making an effort to gazump a number of top-flight clubs for Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville.

Brighton make move for Summerville
The Dutchman is coming off the back of the best season of his career, contributing an outstanding 19 goals and nine assists in the Championship.
Summerville was subsequently named as the Championship Player of the Year, yet it was not enough to helped Leeds get promoted as they lost the playoff final to Southampton.
If reports are to be believed, Leeds must now make player sales in order to ensure that they comply with the EFL’s financial regulations, bringing an exit for the 22-year-old into play.
There are just two years remaining on Summerville’s contract and Leeds are aware that the current transfer window is their best chance to generate the biggest fee possible.
While a potential transfer fee has not been selected, it is plausible to expect Leeds to demand in excess of £20m for the playmaker.

What would be the best move for Summerville?
Despite only enhancing his reputation over the past 12 months, Summerville is still relatively unproven in the Premier League.
Just four goals and two assists have been recorded from 34 appearances in the past, yet clubs are looking at the potential of the Netherlands Under-21 international.
Regular starts are far more likely to come at Brighton than other interested parties, but Summerville is expected to be provided with opportunities at clubs participating in European competition.
Romano adds that Liverpool and Chelsea are still active in the race, while Arsenal have been credited with an interest in the past.
