Manchester City have no interest in signing Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix, according to Correio da Manha (via Sport Witness).
The Portuguese newspaper says that both the Premier League champions and Aston Villa have decided against recruiting the Portuguese international on loan, with a move to Benfica now the likeliest scenario.
Felix had been mentioned as a possible makeweight in Atletico’s proposal for Julian Alvarez, but fans on X are happy that the Cityzens won’t be looking to snap him up this summer:

Felix has failed to live up to expectations
Atletico paid a mammoth £113m to sign the forward from Benfica in the summer of 2019, but he didn’t make the impact expected. Over three and a half years, Felix scored 34 goals in 131 appearances.
Some believed that playing under a defensive-minded coach like Diego Simeone had an adverse effect on his performances, but his subsequent underwhelming loan spells at Chelsea and Barcelona proved that wasn’t the case.
Felix hit the back of the net just 4 times for the Blues during his six-month stay at Stamford Bridge, while he scored just 10 for Barca last season.
City are determined to keep hold of Alvarez
Atletico are believed to be still keen on recruiting Julian Alvarez as Felix’s replacement but the Cityzens have told the Spanish club and other suitors that the Argentinian international is not for sale.
With Alvarez said to be unhappy about his game time, we shall have to wait and see whether it is the end of the matter.
