Manchester City have identified Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala as Kevin De Bruyne’s successor, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.
Writing in his Daily Briefing column, Falk said Musiala could well be open to making a move back to the Premier League, having started out at Chelsea’s academy:
“There is an idea at Manchester City to try and sign him as the successor of Kevin De Bruyne. I don’t know if the Belgian international will leave this summer or in the next, but the story of De Bruyne at Manchester City is coming to an end.”
“Musiala grew up in England and I think he’s always got one eye on the Premier League, so this would be the next big danger for Bayern Munich.”
Supporters on X are understandably very keen to see the Cityzens make a concerted effort to sign Musiala either this summer or next year:

Will Bayern sell Musiala to City?
The Bundesliga side are desperate to keep hold of one of their best players. However, Musiala is a very ambitious player, and the fact that City can offer a return to England, as well as giving him the opportunity to win the Champions League year-in, year-out could prove to be very tempting.
Musiala’s contract expires in 2026 so, if he doesn’t sign a new deal over the coming months, there will undoubtedly be a scramble for his signature at the end of next season.
What is the situation with De Bruyne?
The 33-year-old has less than a year left on his contract at the Etihad but manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that the playmaker won’t be leaving this summer.
It does look increasingly likely, though, that De Bruyne will leave on a free transfer next July.
