Tottenham Hotspur have finally solved the attacking woes as the Lilywhites bring in Dominic Solanke to North London in a move anticipated to be worth around £65m.
Ange Postecoglou has been looking to solve striking woes going into the new season. The Australian gaffer played the majority of last season without a clinical presence upfront following Harry Kane’s departure.
Tottenham land Solanke as Kane replacement
The club have secured England International Solanke to fill in Kane’s shoes; however, the pressure to replace the English skipper is massive, and Daniel Levy could pull off another centre-forward coup to share Solanke’s burden.
Spurs have put Lille ace Jonathan David on their transfer list owing to a potential Richarlison exit this summer, per Football Insider.
The Brazilian has been subject to links with a move to the Saudi Pro League, and Levy is looking to invest the sum from his sale into replacing the former Everton striker.
Jonathan David, a possibility
Senior correspondent at Football Insider, Pete O’Rourke, speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, acknowledged that the Canadian striker is a target for multiple Premier League clubs, including Tottenham.
Owing to his contract situation with his current employers, the 24-year-old is available for a bargain fee. He will enter the final twelve months of his contract with Lille, and the player has expressed his unwillingness to extend his contract, forcing the Ligue 1 side into a cheap sale rather than risking losing his signatures in a free transfer next summer.
The player could be available for as cheap as £25million this summer.
While Tottenham have brought in Solanke, any move for Jonathan David would be a coup for Spurs.
