Manchester City are “considering a move” for Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Athletic had initially reported that the Premier League champions’ interest in the Japanese international and Romano says he is a player that they will target once they have wrapped up the signing of Ilkay Gundogan:

Initial talks took place this week as @hughmurray1894 and @samlee reported.

The majority of supporters on X agree that Kyogo would be a decent addition to City’s squad:
Quality player, perfect backup. No negatives. Do it.

Over 30 goals without a Penalty in 22/23??? Bring him on!

I reckon he’d be the perfect back up. Has very good movements off the ball and times his runs quite well. Should be massive for him coming to play for a club like city and I doubt he’d have a problem deputising haaland

Good player, and would obviously add quality to our squad. Finding a competent player who would be prepared to play the second striker role isn’t easy..

What do City fans need to know about Kyogo?
Ange Postecoglou signed the forward for Celtic in the summer of 2021, after the player had scored 16 in 22 appearances for Vissel Kobe.
Kyogo carried that form into his first season in Scottish football, racking up 20 goals in 33 appearances before his season was ended early by a hamstring injury.
The following campaign (22/23) was the best season – in terms of scoring – of his career, as he hit the back of the net 34 times. Since Brendan Rodgers’s return to Celtic Park, he has been somewhat less prolific, having only scored 19 in all competitions last year.
