Cole Palmer’s elite mentality was on show after footage from a video shoot surfaced online.
The England international’s switch from Manchester City to Chelsea last summer handed the star the opportunity to announce himself to the world.
Palmer’s heroics in firing Chelsea back into Europe was rewarded on Wednesday night with the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
And his brilliance transcended onto the international scene with England this summer, netting the Three Lions’ equaliser in the Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain.
The 22-year-old is back and ready to eclipse last season’s staggering 26-goal haul for the west London club.
Ahead of the new campaign, Palmer took part in a video shoot with footage to be displayed every time he finds the net.
In the clip, Palmer is seen performing his ‘ice cold’ trademark goal celebration into the camera before being instructed to raise three fingers in the air, for when he nets his next hattrick.
Palmer was then heard asking ‘what about four?’ in anticipation of going one better to which a member of the production crew gave him the thumbs up.
The attacking midfielder has previously shown he has exactly what it takes to score four times in one game.
Palmer netted four times in Chelsea’s 6-0 victory over Everton in April as the Blues cantered to an incredible late-season run which saw them win seven of their final ten league games.
The star’s importance has been overstated since his emergence with former boss Mauricio Pochettino describing him as a ‘top player’.
New Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca shares the sentiment and has shown his faith in Palmer by starting him in the club’s first two competitive fixtures of the season.
The ex-Man City starlet handed the Italian an injury scare ahead of Sunday’s trip to Wolves, after walking down the tunnel whilst holding his hamstring after Chelsea 2-0 UEFA Conference League win over Servette on Thursday.
Ahead of the trip to Molineux, Maresca said: “Cole, he felt something but he looks fine.
“They have already checked him. He looks fine, he is okay. Hopefully there is no problem and he can be involved in Sunday’s game.”
