Vincent Kompany is trying to make his imprint at Bayern Munich and when asked what he would like to see by the end of the season, the coach had an interesting response.
“I think I’ve mentioned it before, the word ‘team’. It’s not about what I experienced as a player because I’m not a player anymore, but I have lived it as well. If you can be at a big club with top players and somehow you get to put the team first, you can achieve wonderful things. I really believe in that and I’m committed to that. So, if you ask me what I would like to see at the end of the season, it’s that we’re actually talking about a great team. That would be wonderful for me,” said Kompany in an interview with Bundesliga.com.
With such a big roster, Kompany will have to keep fostering that team culture to get the most out of this season. Surely, this will be a challenge, but the coach seems up to meeting it head-on. One thing is certain, though, Kompany certainly has a good core group to work with in taking on this task.
