Arsenal will not be entertaining any offers for Jorginho, talkSPORT understands.
Super Lig side Galatasaray are reportedly targeting the midfielder ahead of the closure of the Turkish transfer window on Friday 13 September.
Even though the Premier League transfer window closed on August 30, some leagues outside of England are still working on completing crucial new signings before their respective deadlines.
And for Galatasaray, who had their eye on other midfield options including Casemiro and Scott McTominay throughout the summer, it seems the attention is now shifting onto Jorginho.
However, it is understood that Arsenal are not open to letting the 32-year-old go.
Jorginho has been a key part of Mikel Arteta‘s project at the club and will likely continue to play a huge role as the season goes on.
Not to mention, he recently signed a new short-term contract extension with Arsenal in May 2024, having signed for the club back in 2023.
Despite fans initially not being certain about his arrival in North London, he has since become a stalwart for the club.
He has made 52 appearances across all competitions and earned the favour of many an Arsenal fan along the way.
Speaking after the new deal was signed, Arteta explained what it was that he so value about the former Chelsea star.
“We’re delighted that Jorgi has signed a new contract with us,” he explained.
“Jorgi is such an important part of our team, a role model with great leadership skills and a unique playing style ability which makes everybody better around him on the pitch.”
His enthusiasm was echoed by Jorginho himself, who admitted that the decision to remain at the club had been as easy one for him.
“There was not much to discuss to be honest,’ he said. “Because I feel really good here. Just to know that they appreciate me and want me to stay longer as well, it’s a big thing for me. I feel that I have more to do, so that’s the reason why I’m staying.
“That means a lot. And that’s one more reason for signing the contract because I feel I can – and I want to – give more to them, because they’ve been giving a lot of affection and support to me. All I want is to give it back.
“I try to give everything I can of myself to everyone around. Sometimes that can be a cuddle, sometimes it can be words, sometimes show them something.
“I just try to help as much as I can in any situation. I feel that everyone here can count on me. I will always be there for them.”
