After their dealings in the summer transfer window, many expected Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur to be a dominant force in the Premier League; however, looking at the start they have had, questions have been raised about the Lilywhites spending.
The North Londoners have accumulated only four points in the opening four Premier League outings, and the latest Spurs defeat came against Arsenal in the North London Derby at San Siro last weekend. The Lilywhites had all the possession in the world, and they went on to play the game in the Gunners hands, who were playing with an injury-depleted squad.
While the hosts had more time on the ball, Arsenal managed to generate better chances and eventually went on to win the game, thanks to a 64th-minute header from Brazilian defender Gabriel.
Dwight Yorke raises doubts about Tottenham’s top-four chances
In the aftermath of the game, Dwight Yorke has backed Manchester United to finish in a Champions League qualification place over Tottenham, as the latter have only won one game in what is still a very young season.
While Spurs will have an objective of a top-four finish, it looks highly unlikely considering the start that Ange Postecoglou’s side has had. And Yorke, speaking to beIN SPORTS, insists that despite United being as they are right now, they still have a better chance of finishing in the CL-qualification places over Tottenham.

Yorke said,
“It is a good question. I think Manchester United has got a good chance. There’s no way Tottenham are ahead of Manchester United, no way. As bad as we may be right now in our current position, Tottenham is not ahead of Manchester United in
any department. Well, beautiful stadium, I’ll give you that.”
Is Postecoglou’s seat getting hot?
Despite the troubles that the Manchester Reds have had in the previous years, Yorke thinks they are in a better place than Spurs are.
In all honesty, Tottenham have been under par since the season commenced, and the pressure is mounting on Ange to turn the club’s fortunes.
