Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres is on the radar of Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a strong summer transfer window, bringing in young, exciting prospects with high potential to N17. Not only that, they also ensured to move on the majority of deadwood to help Ange Postecoglou reshape his squad after a fine debut season in North London.
Dominic Solanke arrived from Bournemouth as the marquee signing, hoping to fill the Harry Kane-shaped void at White Hart Lane. Things haven’t started well for the record-signing at Tottenham, with the striker failing to break his duck in two appearances. He missed the games against Everton and Newcastle United due to an ankle injury, and while Solanke recovered on time for the North London derby, he wasn’t effective against Arsenal last weekend.
Despite smashing the transfer record for Solanke’s services, the Lilywhites have already started preparing for the future transfer windows.

According to an exclusive report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham are in a three-way transfer battle with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres. At this moment, Spurs have shown the strongest interest in the Sweden international.
Viktor Gyokeres has established himself as one of the most fearsome strikers in Europe. Having arrived from Coventry City, he netted 43 goals in 50 games across all competitions for Sporting CP last season and entered the transfer market as a coveted commodity. However, a move away from Sporting didn’t materialise and he has stayed with Ruben Amorim’s side to continue his exploits from where he left off last season.
The big Swede has registered nine goals in seven games already this season, enhancing his
stock around the continent further. It is clear that Gyokeres has what it takes to be an asset for any club including Tottenham.
The 26-year-old has a €100m release clause in his contract that runs until 2028 (Transfermarkt), but Sporting are willing to sell him for a lesser price next year. The centre-forward has gone from strength to strength in Portugal and he will inevitably earn an even bigger switch not before too long.
As far as Spurs are concerned, we’ve spent a lot of money on attackers such as Solanke, Richarlison, Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert in the last few transfer windows. Solanke, in particular, has unsurprisingly grabbed the most eyeballs due to his hefty price tag, and while he has not made an immediate impact, it is still very early days for the one-cap England international at N17.

Having wholeheartedly backed Ange Postecoglou in the past three windows, we don’t think Daniel Levy would loosen his purse strings for another marquee striker addition especially after only signing Solanke in August. Gyokeres would be a dream addition to Big Ange’s ranks but it is unlikely to see us break the bank for him in 2025.
