Chelsea have had a good start to the season under Enzo Maresca but Moises Caicedo in particular has impressed with his performances.
The Blues currently sit fifth in the Premier League with ten points from their opening five games and arguably put in their best performance of the season in last weekend’s win against West Ham.
Whilst a lot of is made of Chelsea’s attack and the quality of it, Caicedo has quietly gone about his business and looks like a player reborn under Enzo Maresca.
The Ecuador international struggled to begin with after his British record transfer last summer, but started to find his feet over the second half of last season.
However, this season Caicedo looks like the player the Blues paid all that money for and put in a brilliant display against West Ham, arguably his best in a Chelsea shirt.
The midfielder was everywhere, making interceptions breaking up play and even grabbed the assist for Nicolas Jackson’s second goal.
As per WhoScored no player has made more tackles in the Premier League this season than Caicedo (21) and he’s exactly what Chelsea have been missing in the middle of the park for years.
The Blues will be hoping Caicedo can continue to improve over the course of the season and he’s going to play a key role under Enzo Maresca.
