There was plenty of on-field drama in Manchester City’s draw with Arsenal, but footage shows that the chaos was rife on the touchlines too.
The 2-2 draw brought fireworks as Erling Haaland’s opener was wiped out by goals from Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhaes.
Despite Leandro Trossard being sent off for Arsenal, it took until the eighth minute of stoppage time for John Stones to put up with an equaliser.
That equaliser sparked chaos, as Man City’s physio Federico Genevesi ran from the technical area onto the pitch to celebrate the crucial leveller.
He made his way onto the turf and was stood on the halfway line before being summoned back to the bench by another member of Pep Guardiola’s backroom team.
As he made his way back to his seat, tempers flared between players and staff, with Genevesi keeping himself out of any further drama.
Mikel Arteta wasn’t involved in the drama, as he watched on from the edge of the pitch.
Genevesi then got a talking to from one of the officials, before referee Michael Oliver jogged over to give the Italian physio a booking for his antics.
It wasn’t just Man City’s physio who was involved in the drama after Stones’ goal.
Erling Haaland had a run-in with Arsenal debutant Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The Norwegian striker had a clash with Gabriel Magalhaes, before the 17-year-old stepped in to stick up for his teammate.
Haaland appeared to mouth ‘who the f*** are you?’ multiple times to the teenager.
Ilkay Gundogan was also involved, pushing the pair apart.
Ben White and Jakub Kiwior were also involved as they defended Lewis-Skelly and Gabriel.
But after Haaland bounced the ball off Gabriel’s head when he wasn’t looking. Arsenal legend Ian Wright was not happy.
He said: “You know what really boiled me up properly? Haaland’s coward’s move.
“I saw it this morning properly, throwing the ball at Gabi’s head when he’s not looking, when his back’s turned to him.
“What a real coward’s move. Gabi would look you in the eye.
“I’m looking at this as a really good defender versus striker for years to come, I love watching them two, and then you’re doing a cowards move like that.
“Nah man, that’s what bothers me more than everything else, I thought you were bigger than that bro, I thought you were bigger than that.”
That point means that Man City stay top of the Premier League with 13 points from 15, while Arsenal sit two points behind them in fourth.
