Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali is desperate for winger Mykhailo Mudryk to succeed at the club according to reports.
The Blues have spent a lot of money investing in the squad and totalling revamping it since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took over.
Once again the club were busy this summer with several new faces coming through the door, with high profile names such as Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Jadon Sancho being added to the squad.
Eghbali desperate for Mudryk to succeed
Some of Chelsea’s signings have been a success with the likes of Cole Palmer, Malo Gusto and Nicolas Jackson all doing well since they arrived at Stamford Bridge, but there are others that haven’t gone as well.
One of those is Ukraine international Mudryk who arrived at the club for an initial £62.5m in January 2023 and despite improving last season the 23-year-old still has a lot of work to do before he has a chance to force his way into Enzo Maresca’s strongest line-up.
Mudryk has all the tools and the talent to be a top player but it just hasn’t happened yet and this season is going to be crucial in terms of his Chelsea career.
The Ukrainian played 90 minutes in Tuesday night’s 5-0 win against Barrow in the Carabao Cup and put in a good performance as he assisted Pedro Neto for his first Chelsea goal.
Mudryk is likely to find himself back on the bench against Brighton on Saturday and a number of supporters seem to have lost faith in him.
However, according to talkSPORT Eghbali is desperate for Mudryk to be a success at Stamford Bridge after playing a key role in signing him from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The report adds if Chelsea were to consider selling the winger then Marseille could be a potential destination with his former manager Roberto De Zerbi still a big admirer of him.
