A pundit who has probably joined many other pundits in being very critical of Chelsea in the last couple of seasons, has given his predictions now on whether they can be title challengers this season or not.
Chelsea have started the season well under Enzo Maresca, and their away record is really good. We are only five games in of course and nobody needs to be getting carried away just yet, but the early signs are pretty good and we are starting to see elements of what Maresca is trying to do and the football he is trying to play at Stamford Bridge this season.

There will be many doubters still of course, and it will be important for Chelsea to keep the levels high as well as the consistency and the momentum. But Chelsea will believe this season is going to be much better for them.
Can they challenge for the PL title?
This is the biggest question right now. Many Chelsea fans will answer this no, and so is former striker turned pundit Darren Bent.
His words were picked up by Blue Footy this week, and when asked whether he thinks Chelsea are now title challengers, Bent replied:
“Not yet. I don’t think. Because they have not been there for a while. Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City have been fighting it out for a little bit of time. Certainly, if they finish in the top four this season comfortably, playing well, then next season for sure.”
