Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has some updates on Chelsea’s new striker search and has spoken specifically about one name that they could go back for.
It remains unclear at the moment whether Chelsea will be looking to bring a new striker in January or next summer, but what is clear is that they tried really hard to try and sign a new one in the summer window that just passed.
Sources: The one key element Chelsea have changed in recruitment specifics that has benefited them massively.
Jhon Duran of Aston Villa was one of the names they were heavily linked with and tried to sign, but that one, along with Victor Osimhen and other names they were linked with, just didn’t happen.
Chelsea really like Duran
Romano says in his latest YouTube video:
“I can confirm that Chelsea really tried to sign Jhon Duran, Chelsea still like the player, but there is no active talks. Chelsea in June really tried to sign Duran. The deal was quite advanced between the clubs, but Conor Gallagher was part of the deal, and when he rejected to go to Aston Villa, the deal collapsed. Chelsea tried other different ways, but Aston Villa always said £50 million or nothing.”
