Paris Saint-Germain warmed-up for their mid-week UEFA Champions League encounter against Arsenal with a 3-1 victory over Stade Rennais at the Parc des Princes. Bradley Barcola (22), scorer of a brace on the night, described PSG as “unstoppable” when they play as they did against Rennes.
For the first time all season, PSG dropped points last week, in a 1-1 draw against Stade de Reims. The draw meant that rivals Olympique de Marseille and AS Monaco closed in, drawing level on points with Les Parisiens in the Ligue 1 table. Prior to that draw, PSG only narrowly edged past Girona in their Champions League opener, leading to talk of a slump ahead of Tuesday’s fixture against Arsenal, at the Emirates Stadium.
‘I really liked this match’ – PSG manager Luis Enrique
However, speaking to BeIN Sports post-match, Barcola believes that PSG are “unstoppable” when they play as they did against Rennes, sending out a warning sign to Arsenal. “This team can go far. When we play like that, all together, we are unstoppable,” said the France international.
Luis Enrique also expressed his satisfaction with the performance. “I am very saitisfied. We were very much superior [to our opponent]. We scored three and we could have scored more. I really liked this match,” said the Spaniard.
