The topic of Harry Kane and injuries is a storied history, with the English striker having suffered numerous ankle injuries during his time at Tottenham. Luckily for Bayern Munich, his time in Germany hasn’t included any lengthy spells on the sideline, as Kane has remained relatively injury-free having spent just over a year at his new club.
During Bayern’s 1-1 draw with title competitors Bayer Leverkusen, Kane received some studs to the ankle while attempting to block a pass and halt a Leverkusen attack. The play was eventually stopped, and Kane was given medical treatment before being taken off the pitch for Thomas Müller.
After the match, Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany (captured via @iMiaSanMia) gave an uncertain update regarding Kane’s potential injury, saying, “I’m not a doctor, but I hope [it’s] nothing serious. It’s still early to say. Hopefully, he’ll be fit for Wednesday.”
BILD reporter Heiko Niedderer captured (via @iMiaSanMia) Kane explaining that, “[The injury is] painful, but I think it’s ok. We’ll check the foot again tomorrow.” More positive news is that Kane appears to be walking without much trouble, and believes he’ll be available for the match midweek against Aston Villa in the Champions League.
