Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen’s top-of-the-table Bundesliga clash ended in a 1-1 draw after a brilliant team performance by Bayern yielded just a single goal, leaving fans who left Bayern should have gone home with all three points frustrated.
Speaking post-game, captain Manuel Neuer echoed the same sentiment; “I think we deserved more today. We were the better team, we had more chances. The goal we conceded was annoying. We deserved all three points.” (via @iMiaSanMia)
Bayern fell behind after a stunning goal from Robert Andrich that was worth only 0.03 xG but soon responded with a goal just as outrageous, worth the same xG points courtesy of Aleksandar Pavlović. Bayern’s repeated efforts throughout the remainder of the game couldn’t put them in front, and Neuer seems to echo the fans’ annoyance.
