Paris Saint-Germain opted to roll with Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani at the No. 9 position rather than pursue another player. Nonetheless, up until the final week of the transfer window, the capital club was linked to Victor Osimhen.
Chelsea also showed interest in the 25-year-old this past summer, and a recent report from Football Insider suggests that the Blues are considering a January move for Osimhen. The Premier League side would like to capitalize on a break clause in his loan agreement with Galatasaray.
So far, the Nigerian is off to a good start this season with the Turkish side, recording two goals and registering four assists in four total appearances.
With the player performing well, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided the latest regarding Osimhen and whether Chelsea have the edge on this file or if another club are looking to swoop in to land the player who appears to be rediscovering his 2022-23 form.
“I can honestly say that nothing is happening now regarding Osimhen,” Romano wrote in his latest Daily Briefing column. “I’ve said many times recently that Chelsea’s interest remains and they still like the player, but there are no negotiations ongoing and it would be disrespectful for Galatasaray as they paid important money to land Osimhen on loan. So it’s all quiet for now, and once we get closer to January we will see the developments.”
