Enzo Maresca’s preview of tonight’s game against Gent saw him asked for his general thoughts on the season so far.
“In my expectations we are ahead, we are doing very well,” he answered. His first team are into the top 4 in the Premier League, and his B team did well against Barrow last week and are looking to build on that tonight.

We would have to agree – in fact if we had to boil this season so far down to a three word phrase it might be “ahead of schedule.” We’re far better at this stage than we expected we would be, and Maresca deserves a lot of credit for that. To some degree he seems to have altered his plans in terms of how he wants to get this team to play – but that’s to his credit. We’re winning and scoring bags of goals. That was always the first objective. We can worry about the finer points later.
