In his pre-match press conference ahead of PSG’s upcoming Ligue 1 match against Nice, Luis Enrique compared his side to Arsenal. Les Parisiens will face Les Aiglons on Sunday night in the French top flight.
The Ligue 1 champions were convincingly beaten by Arsenal as the two sides clashed in the newly reformatted Champions League. With the match played at the Emirates, the home of the Premier League outfit, PSG went home unhappy after a 2-0 defeat. Les Parisiens dominated possession on the night but could not make that count and succumbed to goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka.
Paris Saint-Germain’s defeat to Arsenal was their first of the season after registering an unbeaten start to Ligue 1 and defeating Girona in their first Champions League match. Despite his side losing to the North London club, Luis Enrique is adamant that there is not a big gap in quality between the two teams.
Comparing the two sides, the PSG boss said, “I don’t think we’re far from Arsenal! If we replay this match against Arsenal, at home at the Parc, maybe the result is not the same. I’m sure this team will fight in all competitions. Arteta has been in charge of his team for 5 years. For us, it’s been a year and three months. I get up every morning to go and win all competitions.”
