Chelsea face Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge in just under an hour, and the teams are in!
At this stage, Enzo Maresca has his team fully sorted and there isn’t going to be much variation until there’s an injury, illness or a dropoff in form. This first team is being kept fresh in midweeks, so there’s no reason to mix things up.
The fact that we’re finally on a good run of injury luck means that we’re also currently in perhaps the most consistent phase of selection since Thomas Tuchel was in charge. The XI today is the same one that lined up a week ago to face Brighton.
Robert Sanchez is in goal, with Malo Gusto and Marc Cucurella at full back. Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana return as the first choice central defensive partnership.
Ahead of them Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez enjoy a last start together before heading off to South America for international duty. Romeo Lavia is back and fit on the bench – but looks like will have to keep waiting for his return to the first team.
The front line has Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke flanking Nicolas Jackson up top, with Cole Palmer playing in the free role behind them. Our recent games have had us scoring for fun, and we hope for another explosive outing today to send us into the international break on a real high.
With Reece James the only injured player at the moment, the bench is crammed with quality. Attacking options Pedro Neto, Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku are all there waiting for a second half chance to break the game apart if we’re struggling against a resilient Forest team.
Here are the full team line-ups for Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest (kick off at 14:00 GMT)
