Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been subject to ample of links with a move away from White Hart Lane. The Italian international only joined the Lilywhites last season, although he has established himself as one of the better keepers in the English top tier.
However, his performances haven’t gone unnoticed in the Italian top flight, as Milan-based San Siro sharing duo Inter Milan and AC Milan have been pursuing a move for the 28-year-old.
While there has been criticism off late surrounding him, he has continued to influence the buildup play under Ange Postecoglou and proven to be quite a shot-stopper when facing shots beyond the deal-ball situations.
Inter Milan want Vicario
Vicario has been looked at as a potential target to replace ageing Sommer at Inter Milan, who are ready to fork out £25 million for the player.

However, former Lilywhites goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes that any suitors will have to at least double the aforementioned amount to take Vicario off Spurs hands. He acknowledged the quality that the Italian possesses while claiming that Daniel Levy and his chiefs would be tempted to consider an offer along the lines of £50 million for the goalkeeper.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, the former Tottenham goalkeeper said:
“It’s not enough. They would need at least double that. He’s been a really good goalkeeper, a really good acquisition. He’s struggled with dominating his box at times and that’s been highlighted.
“He was great last season, though, and he’s kicked on again this season. The cost of replacing Vicario would be more than that. £25million is not money that Spurs need and it’s a position of vital importance.
“If Spurs were to be tempted into selling him, the offer would have to be more than double that. Inter Milan don’t have that to spend on a goalkeeper, so I can’t see that happening.”
Could £50m tempt Tottenham?
At the moment, any transfer looks highly unlikely as Ange Postecoglou has introduced the player into the senior leadership role at Tottenham Hotspur, and given his abilities, Spurs would be looking at the 28-year-old as a mainstay behind the defence for a long time.
