Former Paris Saint-Germain youth academy player Christopher Nkunku opened up about a particular player who caught his eye with the Parisians and now, during his time with France’s national team.
Nkunku cracked the first team for PSG in 2015 but left in 2019 for greener pastures to grow as he left to join RB Leipzig. During his time with the German side, the 26-year-old made 172 appearances while scoring 70 goals and registering 56 assists.
After five years with RB Leipzig, Nkunku made his big move to Chelsea, where he’s made 25 appearances and scored 10 goals. On Sunday, Téléfoot released an interview with the Frenchman, in which he shared how Bradley Barcola has impressed him and whether PSG has shown any interest in bringing the player back.
“Since the start of the season, I’ve been following PSG closely, and I can see he’s been putting up great stats,” Nkunku said about Barcola (h/t Canal Supporters). “He scores and makes an impact, which is exactly what we expect from an attacking player. I hope he keeps it up, both at PSG and with the national team, just like he did [against Israel].
“A Nkunku-Barcola partnership at PSG? (Laughs!) I don’t know what to say about that. But yes, PSG is still a big club. Any approach this summer? No, no, no. I’ve always said there was no approach.”

It will be interesting to see whether PSG looks to bring back Nkunku in the future, as their transfer strategy focuses on acquiring top French talent.
