Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Yohan Cabaye has earned an internal promotion at the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
Cabaye has been a part of the backroom staff in the academy set-up at PSG since 2021. He initially joined the club, for whom he featured as a player, as a sporting coordinator at the academy before becoming assistant sporting director of the Parisian club’s academy in 2023.
He has now received a further promotion to sporting director of the academy, which means that the former Newcastle United midfielder is now responsible for PSG’s academy players, all the way from the age of 13 when they are in the ‘Pre-Youth Academy’ until they integrate the first-team set-up.
Le Paris Saint-Germain est très heureux d’annoncer la nomination de Yohan Cabaye au poste de Directeur Sportif du Centre de Formation et de Préformation.

Cabaye, who made 48 appearances for the France national team, now has increased influence and power within the youth set-up with Les Parisiens. Since the arrival of Luís Campos, there has been an increased focus on developing players from the academy and integrating them into the first-team.
