One former football player has been detailing the one thing that a ‘tremendous’ Chelsea player is missing in what I believe to be a very fair assessment of the player.
Some people analyse football and they are very much far too one way with an opinion and refuse to look at things with a balanced perspective.
EXCLUSIVE! Barcelona eyeing Chelsea midfielders, Blues could capitalise on their interest in Barca defender – and also now eyeing Benfica centre back!
This happens with Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea. He received a lot of hate and over-criticism last season which I think was unfair for a player who just arrived and was clearly still raw; he still is raw. But then on the other side of that, I often see some Chelsea fans pretty much saying Jackson can do no wrong.
There is a middle area here, and I believe that former midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has found that balance with his verdict on Jackson this season.
Jackson scored against Liverpool yesterday
The striker bagged a goal against Liverpool in the Premier League last night and this is when the assessment came in from Reo-Coker.
Jackson has been amongst the goals this season so far, and Reo-Coker has acknowledged the quality and potential that Jackson has.
Nigel Reo-Coker on Nicolas Jackson:
🎙️ “I think he has tremendous potential. He has all the attributes of a striker as he is strong and quick. If he had the mindset of wanting to be a game killer and score 30 plus goals a season then he could.
But he has to work on his game. The biggest thing he is missing is composure. If he can learn how to have that in vital moments then he will score a lot of goals.”
This is a very fair assessment in my opinion and I think it’s got a lot of weight to what he is saying here.
