Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany can scope the FC Barcelona roster and see many he likes. Specifically, the boss commented on center-back Pau Cubarsí and attacking phenom Lamine Yamal.
“I started my career at a similar age. He’s already a very good player. You don’t often get to this high level at this age. I hope he stays fit, because then he can have a great career,” said Kompany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “It’s special for Barcelona that they have (Yamal) who could potentially replace a player like Messi so soon after his departure. That’s unique. Credit to La Masia. But for us the focus is on the entire Barça team, not just one player.”
Surely, Kompany could have continued to rattle off the superlatives of many FC Barcelona players, but his mind is only on how to stop players like Yamal and beat players like Cubarsí.
Could Bayern Munich actually lose to FC Barcelona? What happens if we do? How do the two teams stack up? We discuss those questions and more in the newest episode of our podcast! Listen to it below or on Spotify.
