One Chelsea player who is expected to start their Europa Conference League match against Panathinaikos in Greece tonight, is now on audition for Enzo Maresca’s best Xl.
That is according to a report that has come out this week ahead of the game.
BIG EXCLUSIVE!! Chelsea exploring ambitious move to sign Manchester City centre back as well as watching TWO Benfica defenders!!
Blues winger Pedro Neto is highly likely to start for Chelsea tonight as part of Maresca’s second string Xl, although you can’t even call it a second string side because it is just so good and full of so much quality.
Neto will be part of it though, but will it be for now only? Is he about to break into the Chelsea first team? Well, he has a chance to tonight.
Neto on audition
According to GIVEMESPORT, Neto is on course to be handed an opportunity to stake a claim for a regular starting berth by being thrown into the line-up for the UEFA Conference League clash with Panathinaikos after giving boss Enzo Maresca a selection headache at Stamford Bridge.
The report claims Neto is set to be handed a chance to force his way into Maresca’s preferred line-up in the Premier League as he is likely to start Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League clash against Panathinaikos, having caused problems for the Liverpool defence when he came on as a substitute on Sunday.
So it all sounds pretty obvious really. If Neto plays well then he will start games more regularly, I guess the same goes for every player in that squad even though if right now Maresca seems to have a set ‘best Xl’ and a set ‘second string’ Xl.
They will all get the chance to play and impress and you’d imagine that Maresca, just like any other top manager, will pick his players largely on merit over anything else. So of course Neto has a chance to break in!
