Bayern Munich star Harry Kane is still on the hunt for his first trophy.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker and England men’s national team captain had the misfortune of having his first season in Bavaria overlap with Xabi Alonso’s invincibles season at Bayer Leverkusen — Bayern’s first season without a Bundesliga trophy in 12 years.
But Kane is already setting his sights even higher.
“Of course I want to get to the final and win the Champions League title,” Kane remarked in a Sport Bild interview from the beginning of October(as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “The Champions League is the biggest competition. If we somehow get our hands on the trophy, it would be a fantastic season, even more so if we won it in the Allianz Arena. It will be a tough journey, but one that I am prepared for. These games are always the big games. The atmosphere and the fans are always unbelievable.”
With the Final taking place in Munich next May, Bayern and Kane are on the hunt secure home field advantage.
About that trophy, though..after a loss to Aston Villa and a thrashing at the hands of FC Barcelona, the Bavarians are going to need to shape up soon — or get shipped out at the league phase.
