The reason has been revealed as to why Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca was the most animated he has ever been since he arrived at the club.
We probably all noticed it, I know that I did. But there was a Chelsea reporter pitch side to witness it all first hand, and he has some interesting details as to why Maresca was seen to be so animated and passionate on the side lines in yesterday’s 2-1 win against Newcastle.
Sources: The ‘leaders’ impressing Enzo Maresca’s staff at Cobham, plus the inside details on Josh Acheampong’s contract situation!
The first goal came early doors from Nicolas Jackson after some fine play and an incredible pass by Cole Palmer in a deep area, which was picked up by Pedro Neto to feed Jackson for a nice little finish.
The second goal was of course scored by that man Cole Palmer, who was in incredible form all game and really helped Chelsea take the game to their opponents.
Newcastle did get a goal back through Aleksander Isak, but it wasn’t enough and Chelsea showed their quality to see the game out and get all three points at home in this Premier League match.
Maresca animated
London World’s Chelsea reporter Rahman Osman was at the game and he was sitting super close to Maresca and the Chelsea bench, so he will see a lot.
Osman wrote:
‘This was the most animated Enzo Maresca had been on the touchline, and most of it was due to his frustration with referee Simon Hooper, who was driving Chelsea fans up the wall. Maresca was so upset at some point that he smashed his seat in anger.’
Hooper certainly didn’t have the best game in all honesty, but in the end, luckily it didn’t matter and it did not have an effect on the final result for Chelsea in what was a very important three points gained.
