Bayern Munich loanee Paul Wanner has made a good impression during his stint with Heidenheim so far.
The 18-year-old has five goals and two assists in 11 games across all competitions, but with rumors swirling around Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen ace Florian Wirtz, Wanner might be getting a little antsy about his future.
With that, a move next summer is not necessarily ruled out per Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg:
A permanent transfer for Paul #Wanner next summer is possible ✔️
The 18y/o is currently on loan at Heidenheim, and it is crucial to determine whether he has prospects of significant playing time for FC Bayern in the next two seasons.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen remains an option for both him and the club, as revealed. A lot still depends on Florian #Wirtz.
At present, it is unlikely that Wanner will be selected by Julian Nagelsmann in November. A call-up appears more realistic for the first half of 2025, as things currently stand.
The whole scenario with Jamal Musiala, Wirtz, and Wanner is interesting as all three prefer to play the No. 10 position. While fans might salivate at the prospect of having all three in Bavaria next season, it could be tough for the trio to co-exist on the same roster unless Vincent Kompany can get creative.
