Chelsea were heavily linked with Victor Osimhen for some time now and they tried to sign him in the summer transfer window in what turned into yet another one of those transfer sagas.
Osimhen wanted out of Napoli and looked set to join Chelsea. However, The Blues could not get the deal done late in the window and the striker had to make do with a loan move to Galatasaray in Turkey just so he could continue playing this season.
There has been rumours suggesting that Osimhen could leave the Turkish side in January, and Chelsea would be in for him again. But he’s now confirmed that he will be staying where he is at least until the summer.
Osimhen will not join Chelsea this winter
Chelsea will have to hold on in their pursuit of Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.
Chelsea are still keen on bringing the former LOSC Lille striker to Stamford Bridge despite Nicolas Jackson’s improved form in front of goal. The Blues are looking for a striker who can guarantee at least twenty goals per season and are convinced Osimhen will fill that void.
Speaking after Galatasaray’s 2-1 win against Beşiktaş last night, Osimhen mentioned he will continue his stay with the club untillthe end of his loan spell next summer, as revealed by Turkish journalist, Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
“Are you here for the second half of the season?”
Victor Osimhen: ‘Yes I am here.’
So there you have it, Osimhen stays in Turkey for the rest of this season at least. We’ll see if Chelsea come back in the summer or not.
