Paris Saint-Germain currently feature Achraf Hakimi as their right-back, and it appears he’s on track to extend his contract. However, nothing is guaranteed in football until the papers are signed.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has indicated that PSG and Hakimi are in the final stages of negotiating the extension, with the contract length and salary nearly settled.
That said, could PSG be considering adding some competition for Hakimi? According to Fichajes, the capital club are looking at a potential signing from Real Madrid and have also shown interest in Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose deal runs until 2025.
In light of this, Liverpool are exploring alternatives. CaughtOffside recently reported that the Reds are interested in RB Salzburg’s 22-year-old right-back Amar Dedić, who is also attracting attention from clubs like Real Madrid and PSG.
Liverpool have another Plan B target in mind
Fichajes reports that Liverpool are increasing their interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s talented right-back, Jeremie Frimpong. The outlet also notes that the Premier League side sent scouts to watch him during a Bundesliga match this past weekend.
As the club looks for a potential replacement for Alexander-Arnold, Frimpong has emerged as one of their top targets for the summer transfer window. Frimpong’s appeal extends beyond his fit within Liverpool’s attacking style; his £33 million release clause makes him a relatively affordable option.
However, the race for his signature could heat up, as Real Madrid is also considering him, particularly if Alexander-Arnold decides to remain at Liverpool.
