Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is taking praise after praise right now as he helps the Blues continue with their impressive start to the campaign.
Maresca has done well so far, and the results and performances have been good. Chelsea might not have been gaining too many plaudits at all in the last couple of seasons, but this season that has been very different in the early days of Maresca’s reign.

In fact, the last two seasons have been feeling rather turmoil, and after yet another manager left the club in the summer, you were left wondering who on earth would want to take this job.
In stepped Maresca, and he seemed to arrive without any fear at all during a tough period at the club. You can’t say things have turned around yet though as such, but it’s certainly heading in a good direction.
Gary Lineker the latest to praise Maresca and Chelsea after most of the media spent the last two years criticising the club.
Lineker impressed with Maresca
In words cited by SPTC today, Lineker said:
“Enzo Maresca is doing a good job. We all looked at it and thought this is going to be really difficult coming in there…” The former England international turned pundit told The Rest Is Football.
“He’s come into a club in a bit of turmoil in some ways. Apparently the owners have fallen out and that kind of stuff, but I think he’s handled it really well. He’s bringing out the best. He seems to know what his team is. He seems ruthless enough to deal with certain situations. I’ve been very impressed, as I was last season with Leicester.”
Maresca certainly has been ruthless, and I think that has so far been one of his best qualities.
